Agradecimientos.

Thank God for the gift of writing. To Him be the glory always.
This book would not have been possible without the love and support of
my parents Valentín Amaro and Karina Castillo. Thank you for being the
first ones to believe in me. I also thank my sister Esther and her friend Gaby
Comprés, a Dominican poet, for their guidance and constant inspiration.

I am very happy to have the revision of Meg Petersen, Ph.D. in Literature
at the University of Plymouth, who in her hands the English text achieved
greater character and charm; and also the revisions by Luis Amaury
Rodríguez, who was in charge of giving an academic and sophisticated
meaning to my verses in Spanish.

Mr. Lizard, my childhood friend, runs through what I am, from the depths
of my thoughts to the stars. From the particular to the general, I vent my
soul, the skin that contains my spirit, my roots, reaching lastly the society
of shadows under a starry sky of infinite dreams.
This is my first poetry book. Dear reader, I hope that I can connect with
your heart and that you can identify yourself in these verses.
